03/09/2003: One of the biggest volcanoes of the island: the 2,797 metres high Mt. Ruapehu is still quite active. 1996 was the last time that it threw a lot of ash and rock into the air. When it's quite, his slopes are enjoyed for skiing in the winter. Here it enjoys us at sunrise.
