At Ubirr are numerous rock paintings with the typical motives of the area: hands, animals in "X-Ray"-style and - if you look close enough - even a white man with his hands in his pockets!

The less visited rock paintings at Nanguluwur surprised us: many paintings of any style in good condition - and we the only ones to visit them!
These Mimi-figures are spirit beings which protect the place and its inhabitants.
