The Chinese quarter in Melaka mainly consists of small houses built in the 20th century.

In the red quarter of Melaka all houses are painted in different tones of red - like the Christ Church of 1750, the clock tower and the town hall of 1650.

A small expedition with Landrovers from Singapore!
With Veronika, Hannes, Maggy, Chris, Larry, Franco and Anna accompanying us we make a short trip into the Malaysian jungle. For two days we enjoy mud, rain, sliding and winching. After all these experiences we gather happily for the final picture.

The small bridges in the jungle are often built just out of some trees. Passing them requires feeling for the car and good guidance from outside. Unfortunately not all the bridges are strong enough for all cars - as we had to find out!
This bridge collapsed under the first of our five Landrovers which bumped into the deep hole. Not really a problem - after two hours of winching, supporting, lifting and reconstructing we had it back with the other cars!

One of more than 500 places of worship in Singapore: the mosque Abdul Gaffoor is almost as colourful as the Chinese and Indian temples in the quarter!

The Hinduism temple Sri Mariamman was already used for worshipping in the 19th century. Its tower, decorated with many colourful figures, is a nice example of the style of Hinduism temples in Singapore.
