A trip around the world means to visit many countries. So we take the chance and visit the smallest country of the southern hemisphere: We like the Kingdom of Swaziland very much! We enjoy the beautiful landscapes and the very friendly people. We have to find out that two days are hardly enough time to visit all the nice places and already think about returning to this country where customs are so present. Even more after we surprisingly met one of the (at the moment nine) wives of the king!

We go on holidays!
The last five days we spent (at least some time) under water: In Sodwana Bay the most beautiful corals of South Africa are at home and between them incredible many colourful fish. Want to enjoy more marine life?

In KwaZulu-Natal, the former Kingdom of the Zulus, the "Nazareth Baptist Church" is a church with many believers. We get the chance to join their most important yearly ceremony: The presence of their god-like leader "Shembe" is celebrated for three weeks with a lot of dancing and singing.

Today we once again are in a big city: in Durban we not only have a look at the old houses, but als at the Apartheid-museum and "Sea-World" - the aquarium of Durban.
In Durban, the third largest town in South Africa, live about 3 million people - about 800,000 of them are of Indian decent and about 200,000 Muslims. That's why mosques are quite often seen in Durban. Despite the rumours the crime rate is on it's way down since some years. But we quite often have a look behind us and there is not only onece someone who tries to follow us ...

Pietermaritzburg shows its sunny side: we enjoy the sunshine while walking through the streets and parks. And not only the many houses in Victorian Style are very nice, the restaurants are also!

The Drakensberge are well known for their majestic rising rocks. What a pity that we could not see them, because they were hidden behind thick clouds. But nevertheless we had a short hike through the rain to the caves of the Bushmen at "Giants Castle". We learned a lot about the Bushmen which lived there and we were surprised of the variety of rock-paintings we found there.
