08/31/2003: MERDEKA, MERDEKA, MERDEKA!
On national day, August the 31st, the independence is celebrated for the 46th time. At midnight fireworks are lit in different places in the capital. We join a crowd of several thousand people at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre where immense fireworks are lit and everyone is really impressed!

08/30/2003: The Merdeka Square is decorated with thousands of lamps for the official ceremonies on the national day. The big festivity starts on the night before, when the prime minister opens the countdown to "Merdeka Day".

08/30/2003: Close to the famous Malaysian F1 circuit in Sepang there is also an Off-Road circuit - for cars like ours. We join the "Merdeka 4x4 Challenge" - a nice Off-Road adventure of the kind our car loves..

08/27/2003: After Sony declared us that we have to repair our camera for a lot of money and that it would take about four weeks, we had no choice but to say good bye to it. We were surprised that Sony thinks it's usual that a camera like this breaks down after two years and repairing is at the cost of a new camera ...

08/26/2003: A view into the Batu Caves. In these giant caves are several small temples, which are used for worship by many people although the numbers of tourists visiting the caves is much higher.
